Wyoma Farm was founded in 1976 when a retiring farmer took a shine to a cheeky young bloke who was looking to buy his own farm. That cheeky young bloke, Gary, dreamed of seeing Wyoming one day - a relatively unpopulated area characterized by vast plains, soaring mountains and the cowboy lifestyle. And so the farm was named Wyoma as a play on the state name Wyoming. Gary later married a girl from down the road and they raised three kids together on the farm. Gary and Pam worked incredibly hard to make the sheep and beef farm profitable as almost everyone around them was transitioning to dairy. That meant doing as much of the work themselves as possible - without the expensive machinery that would’ve made life much easier, and often with the kids in tow. Gary rode a horse for all his farm work and was skilled in all jobs that might be required on farm, especially shearing.
