Wool Pet Balls

● medium balls (roughly golf-ball size) are suitable for cats and small dogs only, due to risk of choking
● Large balls (roughly tennis ball size) are suitable for cats or dogs (or kids!)
● Handmade felted wool balls using offcuts of 100% NZ wool.
● Plastic free, NZ-made and biodegradable
● Gentle on teeth and will help keep teeth clean
● Machine washable
● Coloured balls are dyed using turmeric. They will slowly fade in the sun but may be easier to find than the natural balls if you have light-coloured flooring.
● Due to the handmade nature of these balls, there will be some variation in size, shape and colour.

Those little polyester fake mice you buy for your cat? They’re not great for the environment (or your cat).

And the tennis balls you buy your dog are no better. It’s estimated that a tennis ball takes more than 400 years to decompose after your pet has loved it to death.

Not these little puppies - just pop them in the compost at the end of their life or bury them in a pot plant. Wool is a great source of nitrogen and potassium so it will actually feed the earth once its job is done.

While ingesting small amounts of wool won't harm your pet, it’s not a good idea to let them swallow large chunks. If your dog is quite destructive with toys, we recommend supervising them while they play with wool balls.

When choosing a ball for your pet (any ball, not just wool balls) please make sure that it is too big to lodge in your pet’s throat. If you’re unsure, go bigger.

Caring for your pet balls:

Washing these balls actually helps keep them alive longer by re-felting them a little, so go ahead and pop them in the wash.
